On this episode of the Project Upland Podcast, I’m joined by Brandon Moss, fourth-generation Montana upland bird hunter and dog trainer. Brandon joins the podcast to talk about a recent sage grouse hunt in Montana that will be featured in an upcoming Project Upland film in partnership with On X.
During our conversation, we discuss Brandon’s introduction to upland hunting as well as the hunting heritage and tradition in his family. We also talk Brandon’s love for pointing dogs and how he got into breeding his own line of Brittanies. Additionally we share some stories from our Montana hunting trip and talk about the upcoming film that will be produced by Project Upland in partnership with On X.
A special thank you goes out to On X for bringing this crew together and making the trip possible. Always know where you stand with On X.

Nick Larson is the host and creator of the Project Upland Podcast. He and his family, which includes a pair of English setters, reside in Duluth, Minnesota. Naturally, his favorite pursuit is upland bird hunting. From the northern forests of the upper great lakes to the prairies of the west, he chases adventure across the uplands wherever his bird dogs and the people he meets inspire him to go.
