Plant A Seed – A NAVHDA Short Film from Gun Dog Confidential

Gun Dog Confidential Presents a short film about NAVHDA

Noah Foreman is a 17 year old upland bird hunter with a passion for dog handling. His is an unlikely story of a non-hunting upbringing turned hardcore hunting dog enthusiast with the help of NAVHDA (The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association). With his pudelpointer, Noah tells how he evolved from his primary focus on bird hunting to his dog being the best bird dog he can be.

“As soon as that dog slammed on point. The rush of the bird going up. The dog chasing it. I missed completely, I didn’t hit a bird all day. After that I went home and told my parents immediately—I want to get a bird dog.” – Noah Foreman

Dave Trahan, national President of NAVHDA (and owner of OnPoint Kennels) shares his beginnings in the sport as a duck hunter and the evolution into a lifelong lifestyle of dog training and handling.

“We are hoping we plant a seed, that in the future, that when that child gets old enough, maybe on his own, or maybe after a few years of beining out in the wild hunting. That they say to their parents I am interested in getting a hunting dog.” – Dave Trahan

The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to foster, promote, and improve the versatile hunting dog breeds in North America, conserve game by using well trained reliable hunting dogs before and after the shot, and to aid in the prevention of cruelty to animals by discouraging nonselective and uncontrolled breeding which produces unwanted and uncared for dogs. – FIND OUT MORE
