All of It – A Texas Rio Turkey Hunting Film

Dream of spring mornings with this turkey hunting video from Texas.

The world of turkey hunting is often dominated by the Eastern wild turkey, a staple in American hunting culture and turkey hunting tradition. It was in that subspecies that the modern phenomenon of turkey population rebounds were built.

But not too far from some of those native ranges live their close cousins — the Rio Grande wild turkey. Despite enduring quietly in the background, this smaller subspecies can be hunted in 16 of the lower 48 states. They can even be found in Mexico.

This is a story of Chance Yarbrough, a Texan who has found a love for turkey hunting as an adult. Although late to turkey, Chance has pursued many other big game and small game over the course of his lifetime. As time has gone on he has found himself introducing others to this spring pursuit and in this turkey hunting video he calls in a bird for a first time spring turkey hunter.

All of it takes place later in the Texas turkey season as birds grow more wary of hunters and less inclined to perform the breeding rituals that draw gobbles across the morning landscape.
