Ben Williams is a revered bird hunting author, columnist and photographer. His writing and photography have been featured in countless publications for decades. Ben is about as knowledgeable as they come on upland bird hunting.
A Montana resident for more than 60 years, he’s commonly thought of as a prairie bird hunting guru. He’s literally written books on hunting various species of upland birds across the country. Additionally, he’s known for his love of bird dogs — especially the Brittany.
Our conversation covers Ben’s thoughts on the current bird populations and nesting conditions in Montana. We also talk about Ben’s intro to and history in upland hunting and bird dogs. In this podcast, Ben shares with us his upland hunting story, his love for birds dogs, double guns and much more.

Nick Larson is the host and creator of the Project Upland Podcast. He and his family, which includes a pair of English setters, reside in Duluth, Minnesota. Naturally, his favorite pursuit is upland bird hunting. From the northern forests of the upper great lakes to the prairies of the west, he chases adventure across the uplands wherever his bird dogs and the people he meets inspire him to go.

I have all his books and they are a treasure of bird hunting and bird dogs, so nice to here this wonderful man talk about his life and experiences, Outstanding talk with one of bird hunting true Icons…….keep up the good work
