#48 | Upland Hunting Magazines and More with Matt Soberg – Project Upland Podcast

Written by | Bird Hunting Podcast

Matt Soberg & Blitz

On this episode of the Project Upland Podcast, I’m joined by Matt Soberg, upland bird hunter and editor of Project Upland, Covey Rise and Ruffed Grouse Society magazines. Matt and I talk about his upland hunting story, his outdoor industry publishing work and much more.

During our conversation Matt and I start with a brief season recap and a hunting report. We share some upland bird hunting stories as well as the usual bird dogs, shotguns and upland birds chatter. We also discuss how Matt got started upland hunting, training young bird dogs and his love of vintage side-by-side shotguns.  We also talk about the editing and publishing work Matt does for Project Upland, Covey Rise and the Ruffed Grouse Society.

“To expose the uplands to the world, to capture defining moments, to push our passion and culture forward, to bring our community closer, to make us feel. These are your stories.” – Project Upland Motto

Keep up the good work Sobes and Larson! As grouse/woodcock hunters, we know the value of public lands to our recreation. So, please turn out for Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Public Lands Rally at the Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda February 7, 3-5pm.
