On this episode of the Project Upland Podcast, I’m joined by Mark Parman, author and grouse and woodcock hunting aficionado from Wisconsin. Mark and I talk about his upland hunting story, how he fell in love with grouse and woodcock hunting, the books he’s authored and a whole lot more.
During our conversation Mark and I chat about how he got into writing and eventually released two books on grouse and woodcock hunting in Wisconsin, A Grouse Hunter’s Almanac and Among The Aspen. We share some upland bird hunting stories as well as the usual bird dogs, shotguns and upland birds chatter. We also discuss the current state of grouse and woodcock hunting in Wisconsin as it relates to concerns over West Nile Virus and the shortened 2018 hunting season. Finally, we talk about some tips, tactics and strategies for targeting and hunting grouse and woodcock in the North Woods.
